01Overview

Mavielo is a simple, interactive and intelligent ecosystem built for agribusiness professionals, rural producers and students. A top-tier networking platform to connect, make new friends, stay informed and develop business opportunities.

02The challenge

The biggest challenge was the lack of domain knowledge in agribusiness — a market that is hard to reach due to the culture of large farmers and the remoteness of small producers. On top of that, available data didn't reflect the reality of the producers we interviewed to validate our hypotheses, making it even harder to shape a high-impact product.

03The solution

Because the project was founded by a major farmer, significant doors opened in an otherwise unreceptive market. We went door to door — large, medium and small producers, agro professionals and agronomy students — to make tangible how to connect all these stakeholders in one place.

Available on Android and iOS, the app was built with React Native for speed and affordable early-stage costs. The backend uses an architecture inspired by Instagram and TikTok, mixing Node.js microservices with a Nest.js monolith — 9 isolated services for image, text and video processing, plus realtime private and group chat.

04Results & impact

From launch in July 2023 to February 2024, the platform reached over 5,000 users covering more than 500,000 hectares.
